Protsessitäpsus refers to the degree to which a manufacturing or industrial process consistently produces outputs that meet predefined specifications. It is a critical concept in quality management and operational efficiency. High process accuracy means that the variation between individual product outputs is minimal, ensuring a high level of uniformity and predictability. Conversely, low process accuracy indicates significant variability, leading to a higher proportion of non-conforming products.

Several factors influence process accuracy, including the precision of machinery, the quality of raw materials, the skill and training of operators, and the robustness of the process design itself. Statistical process control (SPC) is a key methodology used to monitor and improve process accuracy. SPC employs statistical tools to analyze process data, identify deviations from the norm, and implement corrective actions before defects occur.

Measuring process accuracy often involves statistical metrics such as process capability indices (e.g., Cp, Cpk). These indices compare the actual process variation to the acceptable tolerance limits set for the product. A higher capability index generally signifies better process accuracy. Achieving and maintaining high process accuracy is essential for reducing waste, lowering costs, improving customer satisfaction, and enhancing overall competitiveness in manufacturing.
