Profilherstellung, also known as profile extrusion or simply extrusion, is a manufacturing process used to create objects of a fixed cross-sectional profile. The process involves forcing a material, typically molten plastic or metal, through a die of the desired cross-section. As the material exits the die, it cools and solidifies, retaining the shape of the die. This method is highly versatile and can produce a wide range of shapes, including simple bars, complex hollow sections, and intricate designs.
