Proculus was a Roman general and politician who lived during the late 5th and early 4th centuries AD. He is known for his role in the events leading up to the deposition of the Western Roman Emperor, Romulus Augustulus, in 476 AD. Proculus was a member of the Roman Senate and held the position of magister militum, which made him one of the most powerful figures in the Western Roman Empire at the time.
