Primærutredning refers to the initial assessment or investigation of a patient's medical condition. It is the first step in the diagnostic process and involves gathering comprehensive information to understand the nature and cause of a health problem. This process typically begins with a detailed medical history, where the healthcare provider asks the patient about their symptoms, past medical conditions, family history, lifestyle, and any medications they are taking.

Further investigations may be ordered as part of the primærutredning to confirm or rule out specific diagnoses. These can include laboratory tests, such as blood work or urine analysis, or imaging studies, such as X-rays, ultrasounds, or CT scans.
