Prigoganj

Prigoganj is a small, uninhabited island located in the Adriatic Sea, off the coast of Croatia. Administratively, it belongs to the Zadar County. The island is characterized by its rocky terrain and sparse vegetation, typical of the Dalmatian archipelago. Its coastline is irregular, with several small coves and inlets.

The island's name is believed to have Slavic origins, possibly related to the word "prigodak," meaning "occasion" or "event," though its precise etymology is uncertain. Due to its uninhabited nature and limited natural resources, Prigoganj has no permanent human settlements and is not a significant tourist destination. Its primary ecological role is as a habitat for various seabirds and marine life, benefiting from its relatively undisturbed environment.

Access to Prigoganj is typically by private boat, and it is sometimes visited by local fishermen or recreational boaters. The waters surrounding the island are generally clear and shallow in many areas, making them suitable for snorkeling or diving for those with appropriate watercraft. There are no established facilities or infrastructure on Prigoganj. The island's geological formation is consistent with the karst topography found throughout the Croatian coast.
