PresentHedonistic
PresentHedonistic is a construct in time perspective theory describing a personality style focused on now, seeking pleasure, excitement, and novel experiences. It is one of the five temporal orientations proposed by Zimbardo and colleagues (often examined via the Present Hedonistic subscale of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory). People high in PresentHedonistic tend to live in the moment, value spontaneity, thrill-seeking, and social stimulation, and may give less weight to future consequences. The dimension is distinct from Present Fatalistic, which emphasizes helplessness and belief that the future is governed by fate, and from Future orientation, which prioritizes planning and goal pursuit.
