Prefecturelevel
Prefecturelevel, or prefecture-level, is a term used in political geography to describe a tier of subnational government that sits between a province and a county. It is most prominently applied in the People’s Republic of China, where prefecture-level divisions constitute the second level of administration beneath the provinces or autonomous regions and above county-level divisions. These divisions typically govern several county-level units, including counties, county-level cities, and urban districts.
In the Chinese system, prefecture-level divisions (地级) include three main forms: prefecture-level cities (地级市), autonomous prefectures (自治州), and leagues
Typical responsibilities include economic planning, transportation and infrastructure, environmental management, public security, and social services across
