Powermad

powermad was an American heavy metal band formed in 1988 in New York City. The band was fronted by singer John Joel and also featured guitarists Doug Katsaros and Tommy Hendriksen, bassist Mike Duda, and drummer Kevin "Dr. Evil" Rotolo. They are known for their energetic live performances and a sound that blended thrash metal with more melodic sensibilities.

The band released their debut album, "Slam," in 1994 on RCA Records. The album garnered some attention for its aggressive riffs and Joel's powerful vocals. They followed up with "Pay Dirt" in 1997, which saw them continue to refine their sound, incorporating more groove and a slightly more polished production. Despite critical praise for their musicianship and stage presence, Powermad struggled to achieve widespread commercial success.

Their third and final album, "Absolute Power," was released independently in 2000. The band officially disbanded shortly thereafter. Members have gone on to play in various other musical projects, including Alice Cooper, Doro, and other notable acts in the metal scene. Powermad remains a cult favorite among fans of 90s heavy metal, remembered for their dedication to their craft and their impactful live shows.
