Povsti
Povsti is the Ukrainian term for felt, a non-woven fabric made by matting, condensing, and pressing natural fibers, typically wool. In Ukrainian usage, povsti refers to felt in general, whereas in Russian the standard term for felt is фетр (fetr), with повсть being a related but less common variant in some contexts. The material can be produced by traditional wet felting or by dry/needle felting methods, which build up a dense, cohesive fabric from loose fibers.
