Pomada

Pomada is a Spanish word that translates to "pomade" in English. It refers to a semi-solid, oil-based or water-based hair grooming product that is typically used to style hair. Pomades are known for their ability to provide a strong hold and a shiny finish, making them popular for classic hairstyles such as slicked-back looks, pompadours, and quiffs.

Historically, pomades were often made from animal fats like lard or bear grease, mixed with fragrances. Modern pomades, however, are more commonly formulated with petroleum jelly, mineral oil, waxes, and emulsifiers. They come in various strengths of hold and shine, catering to different hair types and styling preferences.
