Polüeeteresulfoon, often abbreviated as PESU, is a high-performance thermoplastic polymer belonging to the sulfone family. It is characterized by its repeating units of ether and sulfone groups within its molecular structure, which impart exceptional thermal stability and mechanical strength. PESU is known for its amorphous nature, meaning its molecules are arranged in a disordered manner, contributing to its transparency in some forms.

This material exhibits excellent resistance to heat, maintaining its structural integrity at elevated temperatures. It also possesses good hydrolytic stability, meaning it does not degrade significantly when exposed to water or steam, making it suitable for applications involving sterilization. PESU demonstrates good chemical resistance to a range of acids, bases, and organic solvents, although prolonged exposure to certain aggressive chemicals can cause degradation.
