Polyesteriprepolymeerejä, often referred to as polyester prepolymers, are intermediate products in the synthesis of polyester resins. These prepolymers are formed by the reaction of diols (alcohols with two hydroxyl groups) and dicarboxylic acids or their derivatives (compounds with two carboxyl groups). The polymerization process is typically carried out under controlled conditions, often at elevated temperatures and sometimes in the presence of catalysts, to form relatively low molecular weight oligomers.
