Polyesterikuitujen, commonly known as polyester fibers, are synthetic fibers derived from petroleum. They are a type of polyester, a polymer made up of esters in the main chain. The most common type of polyester fiber is polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Polyester fibers are manufactured through a process called melt spinning, where the polymer is melted and then extruded through tiny holes to form continuous filaments. Polyester fibers are known for their durability, strength, and resistance to stretching and shrinking. They also exhibit excellent wrinkle resistance and hold their shape well. These properties make them a popular choice for a wide range of applications, including apparel, home furnishings, and industrial textiles. In clothing, polyester is often blended with natural fibers like cotton to improve its wrinkle resistance and durability. In home furnishings, it is used in carpets, curtains, and upholstery. Industrially, polyester fibers are found in ropes, conveyor belts, and tire cords due to their high tensile strength. They are also relatively easy to clean and dry quickly.
