Plumatella
Plumatella is a genus of freshwater bryozoans, commonly known as moss animals, belonging to the family Plumatellidae. These small, colonial invertebrates are widely distributed across temperate and tropical regions, often found attached to submerged vegetation, rocks, or other hard surfaces in lakes, ponds, and slow-moving streams. Plumatella species are characterized by their gelatinous, cup-shaped colonies, which can vary in size from a few millimeters to several centimeters in diameter.
The colonies of Plumatella typically consist of numerous polyps, each capable of independent movement and feeding.
