Challenges include maintaining accuracy across multiple stores, accommodating regional preferences, and adapting to rapid changes in consumer demand. The field intersects with space planning, merchandising analytics, and category management, and it is increasingly incorporating automation and AI-driven optimization to enhance shelf productivity.
