Piões
Piões is a term that can refer to several things, most commonly a type of traditional spinning top found in Portuguese-speaking cultures, particularly in Portugal and Brazil. These piões are typically made of wood and are often characterized by a pointed metal tip around which they spin. They are usually set in motion by winding a string around the body of the top and then pulling it sharply, causing the pião to rotate on its tip. Playing with piões has historically been a popular children's pastime, involving skill in spinning, throwing, and sometimes even engaging in competitive games where piões are made to knock each other over.
Beyond the toy, "pião" can also be used metaphorically in Portuguese to describe a person who is
