Pillangószelepek

Pillangószelepek, also known as butterfly valves, are a type of quarter-turn valve used to regulate or isolate fluid flow. They are characterized by a disc mounted on a central shaft. When the valve is fully open, the disc is parallel to the flow, offering minimal resistance. When the valve is closed, the disc is rotated ninety degrees, perpendicular to the flow, creating a seal. This rotational movement allows for relatively quick operation.

The design of a butterfly valve makes it suitable for a wide range of applications, including water supply, wastewater treatment, chemical processing, and HVAC systems. They are often chosen for their simplicity, lightweight construction, and cost-effectiveness compared to other valve types. The sealing mechanism can vary, with some designs relying on the disc pressing against a soft seat for tight closure, while others use metal-to-metal contact for higher temperature or pressure applications.

Operation can be manual, typically via a lever or gearbox, or automated using electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic actuators. The flow control capability of butterfly valves is generally considered to be moderate, making them more suitable for on-off service or throttling in certain situations rather than precise flow regulation. Their compact design allows for installation in tight spaces. Maintenance is generally straightforward due to the limited number of moving parts.
