Pienemmt

Pienemmt is a small municipality and town in the fictional region of Veridia, within the Nordmark area. The municipality covers about 12 square kilometers and lies in a gentle valley along the Lysa River. The local climate is temperate, with cool winters and warm summers.

The name Pienemmt is of local origin, attested since the medieval period, though the exact etymology is uncertain. The town developed from a cluster of farms centered on a water mill and parish church.

History: The settlement grew in the Middle Ages, achieving municipal status in 1592 and expanding in the 18th and 19th centuries with the introduction of markets and improved milling.

Governance: Pienemmt is governed by a nine-member municipal council elected for four-year terms, with a mayor as its head. It forms part of Nordmark Province and the Veridian national region.

Economy and infrastructure: The local economy relies on agriculture, dairy farming, and small-scale manufacturing, with tourism centered on the windmill and surrounding trails. The town is connected by regional roads; the nearest railway station is about 8 kilometers away, and there is regular bus service.

Demographics and culture: As of 2022, the population is approximately 3,200. The residents are primarily ethnic Veridians speaking a local Pienemmtan dialect; public life centers on the annual Harvest Festival and the 19th-century Pienemmt Windmill, a designated cultural site.
