Pgtp1
Pgtp1, short for putative GTP-binding protein 1, is a label used in genome annotations to designate a class of predicted GTPase-like proteins. Because gene names are not standardized across organisms, Pgtp1 can refer to different, non-orthologous genes in diverse taxa. In many species, Pgtp1 proteins are annotated as members of the P-loop NTPase superfamily and are hypothesized to bind guanine nucleotides and hydrolyze GTP.
Protein features commonly include a conserved P-loop NTPase motif, often referred to as Walker A, and other
Function and evidence are limited and organism-specific. Putative GTP-binding proteins named Pgtp1 are thought to participate
