Accessibility also implies support for varying levels of digital literacy and assistive technologies, and compliance with accessibility standards such as WCAG to ensure content is usable by people with disabilities.

Regulatory and standards context: In the United States, regulations such as HIPAA and the 21st Century Cures Act promote patient access to electronic health information and encourage interoperable, machine-readable data via APIs (EHI via API).
