Patchfelder

Patchfelder is a small village and former municipality in Veridia's North Vale district, located about 15 kilometers south of the regional capital Lunden. Since 2010, Patchfelder has been part of the municipality of Nordhavn, forming a local administrative association with nearby villages.

Geographically, Patchfelder sits on rolling farmland at about 140 meters above sea level. The Patchbach stream traverses the eastern edge of the village, feeding into the North Vale river system. The name Patchfelder is derived from the historical term for leased fields.

The village is first mentioned in records from 1286 as Pachtfeld. Historically it belonged to feudal holdings in the Nordfelde area and passed to Veridian state administration after regional reforms in the 19th century. The 1970s municipal reorganizations integrated Patchfelder with neighboring communities.

As of 2020, Patchfelder has around 820 residents. The economy is predominantly agricultural, with dairy farming and crop production forming the base, complemented by a few crafts and service businesses. A portion of residents commutes to larger towns for work.

The village center contains a parish church dating to the 14th century, with later renovations. Patchfelder hosts an annual local fair in late August and maintains a small cultural program through a volunteer association. Public transport is provided by a regional bus service; the nearest railway station lies in Lunden.
