Passziváló

Passziváló is a Hungarian term that translates to "passivator" or "passivating agent" in English. It refers to a substance that, when applied to a material, creates a protective layer that prevents or slows down its reaction with its environment, particularly corrosion. This process is known as passivation.

Passivating agents are commonly used in metallurgy to protect metals, especially stainless steel, from rusting and other forms of degradation. When a metal surface is treated with a passivator, a thin, invisible, and often passive oxide layer forms on the surface. This layer acts as a barrier, preventing reactive elements like oxygen and moisture from reaching the underlying metal and initiating a chemical reaction.
