Parfumextrait, also known as parfum or pure perfume, represents the most concentrated form of fragrance available on the market. It typically contains between 15% and 30% aromatic compounds, which are the oils that provide the scent. This high concentration results in a more intense and longer-lasting fragrance compared to other perfume types like eau de parfum, eau de toilette, or eau de cologne. Due to its potency, a small amount of parfumextrait is usually sufficient for application, and its scent can linger for many hours, sometimes even a full day.

The creation of parfumextrait involves dissolving these aromatic compounds in a high-proof alcohol base, often with a small amount of water. The quality of the aromatic compounds, their complexity, and the skill of the perfumer in blending them are crucial to the final scent profile and its overall richness. While offering superior longevity and intensity, parfumextrait is generally the most expensive type of fragrance due to the higher percentage of precious aromatic oils used. It is often presented in smaller, more luxurious bottles. The application of parfumextrait is typically done sparingly, often dabbed onto pulse points such as the wrists, neck, or behind the ears, where body heat helps to diffuse the fragrance.
