Parasitärem
Parasitärem are organisms that rely on another living organism, the host, to obtain nutrients and to reproduce, often causing some degree of harm to the host. They can be broadly classified as endoparasites, living inside the host, and ectoparasites, living on the host’s surface. Many parasites have complex life cycles that involve one or more hosts; others have direct lifecycles with a single host. They may be obligatory, needing the host to complete development, or facultative, able to live independently yet exploiting hosts when available.
Common groups include helminths (nematodes, cestodes, trematodes) and protozoa. Ectoparasites such as fleas, ticks, and lice
