Pantonefärg refers to colors that are part of the Pantone Matching System (PMS). This system was developed by the Pantone company to standardize color reproduction across various industries, particularly in printing and design. The PMS is a proprietary color space, meaning it's a unique system owned and maintained by Pantone.

The core idea behind Pantonefärg is to provide a consistent and reliable method for communicating color. Instead of relying on subjective descriptions or variations in monitor displays, designers and printers can specify a particular Pantone color by its unique alphanumeric code. This ensures that a specific shade of red, for example, will appear the same whether it's printed on a brochure in one country or on packaging in another.

Pantone offers a vast library of colors, each identified by a number and sometimes a letter suffix indicating the color family or type of ink. These colors are presented in physical swatch books or digital libraries that designers use to select and specify colors for their projects. When a designer chooses a Pantonefärg, they communicate that specific code to the printer, who then uses specially formulated inks to match that exact color.
