Pangas
Pangas are a group of freshwater fish belonging to the order Siluriformes, commonly known as catfish. The term "Panga" is often used commercially to refer to several species of Pangasiidae catfish, most notably Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, which is native to Southeast Asia. These fish are characterized by their elongated bodies, broad heads, and a lack of scales, instead possessing tough, leathery skin. They typically have two pairs of barbels around their mouths, which are used to detect food in murky waters.
Pangasianodon hypophthalmus, the most commercially significant species, is a fast-growing fish that can reach considerable size.
The farming of pangas has raised some environmental and sustainability concerns, including issues related to water
