Palletkastsystemen, also known as pallet racking systems, are storage structures designed to efficiently store and organize palletized goods in warehouses and distribution centers. These systems are fundamental to modern logistics operations, maximizing vertical space utilization and facilitating easy access to inventory. The most common type is selective pallet racking, which allows direct access to each pallet stored. Other variations include drive-in racking for high-density storage where forklifts drive into the rack, push-back racking where pallets are pushed back on nesting carts, and pallet flow racking which uses gravity to move pallets along inclined rollers.

The design of palletkastsystemen typically involves upright frames and horizontal beams. The uprights provide vertical support, while the beams are secured to the uprights at predetermined heights to create shelves for the pallets. Load capacity is a critical factor, with systems engineered to handle specific weights based on the materials used, beam length, and upright configuration. Safety features such as column protectors and aisle-end barriers are often incorporated to prevent damage from forklift impacts and ensure a secure working environment.
