Palettengröße refers to the dimensions of a pallet, a standardized platform used for transporting and storing goods. The most common pallet size globally is the 1200 x 1000 mm (47.2 x 39.4 inches) EUR pallet, also known as the EURO pallet. However, various other sizes exist to cater to different industries and transportation methods. For instance, the US standard pallet measures 40 x 48 inches (101.6 x 121.9 cm).

In Europe, besides the EUR pallet, other standardized sizes include the FIN pallet (1000 x 1200 mm) used in Finland, and the ISO pallet which encompasses a range of six different sizes, two of which are widely adopted: 1200 x 1000 mm and 1219 x 1016 mm. The choice of pallet size can significantly impact logistics efficiency. Smaller or custom pallet sizes might be used for specific applications, such as in retail or for transporting small, delicate items. Conversely, larger pallets can optimize space in warehouses and during bulk shipping.

The dimensions are crucial for compatibility with handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as for fitting within shipping containers and trucks. Understanding and adhering to specific pallet size standards is essential for smooth supply chain operations and to avoid issues with loading, unloading, and storage. Different industries may have their own preferred or mandated pallet dimensions.
