Paddington Errors, often referred to as PaddingFehlern in German, are a type of error that can occur in network communications, particularly in the context of secure protocols like TLS/SSL. These errors arise when the padding applied to data before encryption is invalid or corrupted. Padding is used to ensure that the encrypted data block meets a specific size requirement, making it harder for attackers to infer information about the plaintext. When the receiving party decrypts the data, it also decrypts the padding and checks its integrity. If the padding is found to be incorrect, a Paddington Error is triggered.
