PUEluvulla

PUEluvulla is a coastal town and municipality in the fictional nation of Veridia. It lies on a sheltered bay along the Veridian coast, about 120 kilometers from the capital, Ardentia. The municipality covers roughly 18 square kilometers and had an estimated population of 6,200 in 2023.

The name PUEluvulla is of uncertain origin; local tradition links it to a late-19th-century settlement phrase. The town began as a fishing village in the 17th century and grew with timber, shipbuilding, and market trade. It was formally incorporated as a town in 1892.

Geography and climate: PUEluvulla sits on a crescent bay with rocky headlands and a natural harbor. The Puela River flows nearby, creating wetlands that support birdlife. The climate is temperate maritime (Cfb), with mild winters, warm summers, and regular sea fog.

Economy and infrastructure: The local economy centers on fishing, seafood processing, and tourism. The town has a small port, a coastal road, and a regional bus network, plus a ferry link to the mainland. A weekly market and a fish auction are key economic activities.

Culture and notable sites: Landmarks include the Old Lighthouse, St. Elena Cathedral, and the Harbor Market. The PUEluvulla Festival, held each late summer, highlights fishing heritage and coastal crafts. The municipal government consists of a mayor and a 9-member council; education includes two primary schools and one secondary school.
