PPTPMPPE

PPTPMPPE refers to a combination of network protocols used for establishing Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). Specifically, PPTP stands for Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol, and MPPE stands for Microsoft Point-to-Point Encryption. PPTP is an older VPN protocol that creates a tunnel through which data can be transmitted securely. MPPE is a cipher suite used to encrypt the data that travels through this PPTP tunnel.

The primary function of PPTPMPPE is to provide a secure and encrypted connection over an insecure network, typically the internet. This allows remote users to access private networks as if they were directly connected. PPTP is known for its ease of setup and widespread support across various operating systems, making it a convenient choice for basic VPN needs.

However, PPTP, and by extension PPTPMPPE, has significant security vulnerabilities.
