PNGstäan

PNGstäan, officially the Republic of PNGstäan, is a sovereign state in the western Norda region. It features coastal plains, highland plateaus, and wetlands, with a climate ranging from tropical to temperate. The capital is Virelia, and the largest city is Lumenport. The population is about 12 million, and the area is roughly 210,000 square kilometers.

Administratively, PNGstäan is divided into fourteen provinces. The country lies along a western coastline, with the Arel River basin and several highland valleys shaping its topography. Forests and protected areas are significant, supporting biodiversity and ecotourism.

Historically a collection of rival kingdoms, PNGstäan centralized in the 19th century. It gained independence from a colonial power in 1948 and established a constitutional framework in 1987, with a democratic system strengthened by reforms in 1999.

PNGstäan is a constitutional parliamentary republic. The president serves as head of state, while the prime minister is head of government. The legislature is bicameral, consisting of a Senate and an Assembly. Elections are held every four years in a multi-party system.

Its economy is diversified, with services, manufacturing, agriculture, and mining. Major crops include tea and coffee; mineral exports include copper and gold. Hydroelectric power supports industry, and the PNGstäani dollar (PGD) is the official currency. Principal trading partners are regional and international markets.

Ethnic groups are diverse; the official language is PNGstäanese, with English common in government and business. Cultural life centers on regional crafts, festivals, and cuisine blending coastal and highland influences.

Transport links include highways and several rail routes linking major cities. The port of Lumenport handles most international trade. Protected areas, including Boreal National Park, illustrate the country’s commitment to conservation.
