Oíle is a fictional coastal city-state in the archipelago known as the Solari Islands, a setting used in contemporary fantasy fiction and related role-playing materials. Located at the mouth of a broad estuary, the city benefits from a natural harbor protected by a ring of mangrove-fringed channels. Oíle’s position has long made it a trading hub between inland villages and maritime powers.

The name Oíle comes from the local maritime language and is commonly interpreted as “harbor that remembers,” a reference to the city’s tradition of recording cargo and passage in stone and script.

Oíle developed as a trading post in the late first millennium and grew into a mercantile republic governed by guilds. During its prosperous periods, the city expanded its shipyards, markets, and crafts while forming networks with neighboring polities.
