Ozonfiendtlige
Ozonfiendtlige, or ozone-depleting substances, are chemicals that have been found to contribute to the depletion of the Earth's ozone layer. The ozone layer is a region of the Earth's stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation, protecting life on Earth from its harmful effects. Ozone-depleting substances (ODS) are primarily man-made chemicals, including chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), halons, carbon tetrachloride, and methyl chloroform. These substances are released into the atmosphere through various human activities, such as refrigeration, air conditioning, foam blowing, and fire extinguishing.
The primary mechanism by which ODS deplete the ozone layer involves the release of chlorine and bromine
International efforts to address the ozone depletion problem have been successful. The Montreal Protocol, an international
