Ovulerar is a term that refers to the process of ovulation. Ovulation is a natural biological event that occurs in the reproductive cycle of most female mammals. It is the release of a mature egg, or ovum, from the ovary. This typically happens once during each menstrual cycle. The egg travels down the fallopian tube, where it may be fertilized by sperm. If fertilization occurs, the egg implants in the uterus and pregnancy can begin. If fertilization does not occur, the egg is reabsorbed by the body or shed during menstruation.
