Overexpresses

Overexpresses is a term used in molecular biology and genetics to describe a condition where a gene or protein is produced at a significantly higher level than is typically found in a cell or organism. This heightened production can occur for a variety of reasons, including genetic mutations, environmental factors, or as a result of experimental manipulation.

In the context of gene expression, overexpressing a gene means that the cellular machinery responsible for transcribing the DNA into RNA and then translating that RNA into protein is working at an accelerated rate or producing more copies than normal.
