Oscillatoriska is a term used in Swedish-language science to refer to properties, systems, or phenomena that exhibit oscillation or periodic motion. It serves as the adjectival form of oscillator, and in English the corresponding term is oscillatory or oscillatory in nature. The term is used across physics, engineering, chemistry, and related fields to emphasize rhythmic, repeating behavior rather than static states.

In mathematical modeling, oscillatoriska behavior is often described by second-order differential equations of the form m x'' + c x' + k x = F(t). Key quantities include the natural frequency ω0 = sqrt(k/m) and the damping ratio ζ = c/(2 sqrt(mk)). The damping regime—underdamped, critically damped, or overdamped—determines how the system approaches equilibrium after a disturbance. For forced excitation, the steady-state response depends on frequency and damping.

In electrical and mechanical systems, oscillatoriska phenomena appear in LC or RLC circuits and mass–spring–damper assemblies, where energy exchanges between kinetic and potential forms produce oscillations.
