In most contexts, it appears to be a misspelling or informal coinage referring to the orbitofrontal cortex, a region of the prefrontal cortex located in the frontal lobe just above the orbits of the eyes. The orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) is involved in evaluating rewards and punishments, updating the value of outcomes, and guiding decision making based on expected consequences.

The OFC integrates information from sensory systems with affective signals from limbic structures such as the amygdala and hippocampus.
