Optronilisation

Optronilisation is a hypothetical or theoretical concept that describes the process of integrating optical and electronic functionalities within a single material or device. The term itself is a portmanteau, combining "opto" from optics and "tronics" from electronics. The core idea behind optronilisation is to create systems that can efficiently manipulate light signals using electronic means, or conversely, convert electrical signals into light signals with high fidelity and speed.
