Oksatuksesta

Oksatuksesta is a mountain found in the region of Lapland in Finland. It is located in the municipality of Inari and is part of the Puolanka and Sallanca valleys range. The mountain is situated approximately 192 kilometers northeast of the municipality of Ivalo and 177 kilometers northwest of the town of Rovaniemi.

The name "Oksatuksesta" is derived from the Sami language, which is spoken by the indigenous Sami people in the northern parts of Finland. In the Sami language, "oksatuksesta" roughly translates to "the ridge of the birch."[1] This name is reflective of the mountain's location amidst a natural environment dominated by birch trees.

Oksatuksesta has an elevation of 772 meters above sea level, making it one of the higher points in the region. The mountain offers a range of geological features, including granitic and gneissic rock formations. This unique geology is characteristic of the area, where ancient mountain ranges are visible in the form of granitic bodies.

Oksatuksesta is considered a challenging destination for hikers and mountaineers due to its remote location and unpredictable weather conditions. However, the mountain offers breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, which can be enjoyed during periods of clear weather.
