Ohjausjäreät

Ohjausjäreät is a Finnish term that translates roughly to "steering gear" or "control mechanisms" in English. It refers to the complex systems and components used to guide and maneuver a vehicle, vessel, or aircraft. In the context of automobiles, ohjausjäreät encompasses the steering wheel, steering column, steering rack or gearbox, tie rods, and related hydraulic or electric power assist systems. These elements work in concert to translate the driver's input into a change in direction of the wheels.

The evolution of ohjausjäreät has seen significant advancements, moving from purely mechanical systems to sophisticated electronic power steering (EPS) and steer-by-wire technologies.
