Offsetnyomatok, often translated as offset prints or reproductions, refer to artworks created using the offset lithography printing process. This technique is a widely used commercial printing method that transfers an inked image from a plate to a rubber blanket, and then to the printing surface. In the context of art, offset prints are typically reproductions of original paintings, drawings, or photographs, rather than unique artistic creations.

The process involves creating a printing plate, usually made of aluminum, where the image is chemically treated so that certain areas attract ink and others repel it. The plate is then mounted on a cylinder that rotates against another cylinder covered with a rubber blanket. Ink is applied to the plate, and the blanket picks up the ink, transferring it to the paper or other substrate. This indirect transfer is a key characteristic of offset printing.

Offset prints are valued for their ability to faithfully reproduce the colors and details of the original artwork. They are often produced in limited editions, each signed and numbered by the artist, which can add to their collectibility. However, they are distinct from original prints such as etchings or woodcuts, where the artist directly creates the printing matrix.
