Offensiveness refers to the property of causing offense—a feeling of anger, indignation, hurt, or resentment—in others when they perceive a statement, action, or symbol as insulting, disrespectful, or harmful. It is a subjective experience largely shaped by cultural norms, personal history, power relations, and situational context.
