Objektstørrelse refers to the size of an object, covering both physical dimensions and how large an object appears in digital representations. In Danish and related technical usage, the term can describe real-world measurements such as length, width, and height, as well as the apparent size seen from a given distance or viewpoint.

In physical terms, objektstørrelse is expressed in units like meters, centimeters, or millimeters. The apparent or angular size depends on distance and viewing angle; for small objects, the angular size θ (in radians) is roughly equal to real_size divided by distance. This concept is central in optics, photography and ergonomics, where perception and fitting are influenced by distance and field of view.

In imaging and computer vision, objektstørrelse often denotes the size of an object within a digital image, typically described by pixel width and height of a bounding box, or by the object’s area in pixels. In three-dimensional graphics and modeling, it can refer to the scale factor applied to a model, determining its rendered size within a scene.

Measurement and estimation methods vary. Physical size is measured directly with rulers or calipers, sometimes with laser rangefinders. Angular size is inferred from distance measurements and geometry. In images, size is estimated through segmentation, object detection, or calibration against known references; accuracy is affected by resolution, perspective, and occlusion.
