OLEDnäyttöjä, or OLED displays, are a type of display technology that utilizes organic light-emitting diodes. Unlike traditional LCD screens that require a backlight, each pixel in an OLED display emits its own light. This fundamental difference leads to several key advantages.

One of the most significant benefits of OLED technology is its superior contrast ratio. Because black pixels can be completely turned off, OLED screens achieve true blacks, resulting in incredibly deep and vibrant images. This also contributes to wider viewing angles and faster response times, making them ideal for motion-heavy content like gaming and fast-paced video.

OLED displays are also known for their energy efficiency, particularly when displaying dark content. Since unlit pixels consume no power, they can offer better battery life in portable devices. Furthermore, the self-emissive nature of OLEDs allows for thinner and more flexible display designs, opening up possibilities for innovative form factors in smartphones, televisions, and other electronic devices. However, OLED technology can be more expensive to manufacture compared to LCDs, and historically, there have been concerns regarding the lifespan and potential for burn-in with static images, though these issues have been significantly mitigated in modern OLED panels.
