OKBs
OKB stands for Opytno-Konstruktorskoye Byuro, or Experimental Design Bureau, a designation used in the Soviet Union and Russia for specialized state-controlled design organizations tasked with developing new weapons, aircraft, missiles, space systems, and related technologies. Each OKB operated as an autonomous design entity within a ministry or industrial complex, responsible for the full development cycle from concept through prototype to near-production readiness.
