Nutit

Nutit is a town and commune in the fictional nation of Valoria, located in the northern Valorian Highlands. The name derives from the Valorian word nut, meaning ridge, with the diminutive suffix -it. The town sits at about 320 meters above sea level and covers roughly 42 square kilometers. The Nutit River flows nearby, feeding Nutit Lake, which is central to local recreation and biodiversity. Climate is temperate with mild summers and cold winters.

Evidence of settlement dates to the 13th century, with town rights granted in 1725. Traditionally based on agriculture and forestry, Nutit has diversified since the late 20th century with small-scale manufacturing and ecotourism. The economy now includes agricultural cooperatives, craft workshops, and tourism services.

As of 2020, Nutit had about 5,400 residents. The population is largely Valorian-speaking, with small communities of migrants from neighboring regions. Local government comprises a mayor and a 12-member municipal council elected every four years; Nutit is part of the Norelia Province for regional administration.

Nutit hosts an annual harvest festival and operates a weekly market. The town has two primary schools, one secondary school, a public library, and a historic town hall. Notable landmarks include the ruins of Nutit Fort, the lakeside park, and surrounding pine forests.

Nutit is connected by regional roads and lies 12 kilometers from the nearest railway station. The closest international airport is about 80 kilometers away.
