Northug

Petter Northug is a retired Norwegian cross-country skier. He competed from 2005 to 2018 and is widely regarded as one of the most successful skiers in history. Northug specialized in the sprint and middle-distance events.

His career highlights include two Olympic gold medals, one at Vancouver 2010 in the sprint and another at Sochi 2014 in the 50km freestyle. He also achieved thirteen World Championship gold medals, making him one of the most decorated athletes in the sport's history. Northug won the Tour de Ski twice and the FIS Cross-Country World Cup overall title three times.

Known for his aggressive racing style and powerful finishing sprints, Northug often engaged in tactical battles with his competitors. He was a charismatic figure in the sport, attracting significant media attention and a large fanbase.
