NoardeastEast

NoardeastEast is a collaborative artistic project founded in 2019 by Dutch artist collective De Onconventionele Onbekenden. The project centers around the exploration of the northeastern regions of the Netherlands, particularly the provinces of Friesland and Groningen. Its primary aim is to document and interpret the landscapes, cultural heritage, and the everyday lives of the people inhabiting these areas through various artistic mediums.

The collective utilizes photography, film, sound recordings, and written narratives to capture the essence of the Noardeast East. Their work often highlights the unique dialect, the agricultural traditions, and the distinctive architecture found in these less populated parts of the country. NoardeastEast is not a singular exhibition but rather an ongoing research and creation process. The collected works are periodically presented in the form of exhibitions, publications, and online archives, making the project accessible to a wider audience.
