It seeks to understand human behavior by integrating principles from both perspectives. Traditional behavioral psychology focuses on observable actions and their relationship to environmental stimuli, emphasizing learning through conditioning. Cognitive psychology, on the other hand, explores internal mental processes such as perception, memory, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Behavioral Cognitivism proposes that internal cognitive processes play a crucial role in mediating the relationship between stimuli and responses. Instead of viewing behavior as a direct reaction to external events, this approach suggests that an individual's interpretations, beliefs, and expectations shape how they perceive and react to their environment. Information processing theories liken the human mind to a computer, with stages of input, processing, and output. Cognitive schemas are mental frameworks that organize our knowledge and influence how we interpret new information. Self-efficacy, a concept popularized by Albert Bandura, refers to an individual's belief in their ability to succeed in specific situations or accomplish a task, which in turn affects their motivation and behavior.
